my grandmother had the surgery a week ago. she was fine did everything she was suppose to…. thentoday out of no where… she has straight blood exiting her colin. Now she is on the way to the hospital but i was wondering if anyone knows about this… heard of this….. or anything like that so i can know if she will be okay before i freak out after hours of waiting for her results.
ok so if it were a staple bleeding internaly, what could happen to her? This doesnt cause death does it? I am sorry that I dont know all this stuff, that is why I am asking it.
WOW that make me rethink my Sx. comeing up. I hope your grandma is ok.

Um Yes you should worry, I had gastric bypass in 1999 no probs, sounds like she has torn something.
They do divide your stomach and re-route your intestines in this op, you know.

Go to the doctor. is the blood dark or bright red? She needs medical attention. this is not normal.

Of course you should be worried. Could be the staple line bleeding internally. This is the most logical reason I can think of. I had it three years ago and no problems either, thank God. My understanding is they don’t touch the colon. Just the stomach and the duodenum. Depends, of course, on what type of GBP she had. Hope she gets well soon.
